  • Which plane flew with this propeller (& how old)?

This has been in the family since the 1940s...

    Manufacturer: Curtiss
Length from tip to tip: approx 81"
All numbers stamped anywhere on the propeller:
    Curtiss propeller 108-R-H
    Drawing 9603
    D-6 9- P-6 5

    Number of bolt holes: 8

    Thanks!
    Curt

    Better photo

This is photo taken before hanging the Curtiss propeller on the wall... only took 30 years. Didn't want to rush into anything.

Not sure what it might be. It's very short compared to most early props, but the overall design certainly resembles one of these.

        Hi,

It seems there is something stamped on both blade roots which cannot be what you have transcripted. Can you post close up of the two boxed areas? And one pic of each side of the hub?

        Regards,

          Stamped into the wood:

          Right side: CURTISS PROPELLER 108-R-H
          Left side: DRAWING 9603 D-6 9- P-6 5

Do not have photo handy of the backside. Do not recall anything being stamped on the back.

          Thanks.
