  • Post 1st WW propeller, needs identification

I have in my possession an interesting wooden propeller that once hung in the Hampshire Aero Club in the 50's. John Issaacs mentions it in his book, Aeroplane Affair, but says it was from a Supermarine Sea Eagle.
This is probably not correct as the propeller is 75 ins in length, and single blade.
Any ideas, I hope I can upload the photos.
    Regards
    David Moldon

You'd need all of the number stampings to even begin to try to identify it.

Technically, it's actually "2 bladed", and I note that the hub has been carved out.

The only markings are on the hub as shown in the picture. The hub was carved out to take a clock.

It looks as if additional numbers above the ones that show may have been sanded off, effectively making it impossible to identify with any certainty.

          POST 1ST ww PROPELLER

          Hi Dave
Found some more markings, very faint, but it might help. Check photos.
I have emailed these to Fairey, the probably manufactures of the propeller to see if they have any clues.

          Kind regards

          David

            Those look like inspection stamps.
