SE5A is the aircraft type and the "VIP" most likely refers to the Wolseley Viper engine that was often used on it.

      Is it worth anything?

Does the stamped #s in the wood have any meaning? (ect) A.I.D 23D

      thanks for your reply

Those are inspection stamps. Bob Gardner has had some interest in linking those somehow, but I'm not sure he has anything definitive. He checks in here periodically and may offer some other insight.

SE stands for the Scout Experimental, a series of aircraft designed by the Royal Aircraft Factory. You would really impress the boss if you added that it originally stood for Santos Experimental. Don't ask. You'll have to Google!

Viper indicates the engine, a Wolseley Viper, a licence built Hispano Suiza.

AID indicates an airworthiness stamp by the British Aeroplane Inspection Department.

If you wish to sell your prop it should make 1500 GBP, about 2100 USD.
If you want to insure it, 2500GBP, about 3500 USD

          With best wishes,

          Bob
