    What is this?!?!

    Hi guys,

    My name is Brian, I'm new here. I was clearing out one of our sheds for restoration when I found a very old and large prop!

    It's approx 12 feet long, 7-8 inches in depth and has light tip protection.

    There are no markings, colours or stamps on the wood. There is a small metal rectangular stamp located on its side near the hub. It's rusted beyond recognition though.

    I reckon it's off something from WW1 or thereabouts, more tan likely a British aircraft.

    Anyone able to help tell me what the hell it is?!

        It's probably from a wind generator of some type. The two-bolt hub and the general design, along with the length are typical of many that have turned up in California vineyards.

          Thanks for that! There was me thinking it came off some sort of a bomber!

          What kind of era would it be from? I'd like to restore it and put it in the office.

            No idea how old it is. I think they are still manufactured. Personally, I wouldn't try to restore it, although it might not make much difference if it isn't worth much.

              I had occasion to visit orchards in Oregon in 2011 and they were still in use then. They are used as fans to keep air moving and keep frost from forming.
