  • need help identifying my wooden propeller!!

it is 1.8 meters tall and is a single piece of a propeller which i think would of gone into a centre piece??? it is made of wood and has what i think is brass around one edge and has a cast iron bottom which is round. it has several markins on it. at the top of the brass it reads the digits 246. also on the wood near the bottom it reads in black with a yellow circular background, RA and underneath it has the letter B which is alot bigger. unerneath that it has (i think) a seven digit number but can only make out the last four which are 7237. on the other side of the blade near the top it has another marking which reads D137237 which is in yellow. i hope someone can be of some help, i would be very greatfull for any infomation, thanks!!!

It sounds like a single blade from a variable pitch propeller. I suspect it will be quite hard to identify based on what you've provided.

You probably need to re-size the image. You can try emailing it by clicking on my name on the left and click the "send email", but I'd prefer if you reduce the file size either way.

                    Good job with the photos.

Yes, it's a blade from a variable pitch propeller. The only person I know who might be able to help you identify it is Monte Chase. You can contact him on his website about variable pitch propellers.

They're all worth "something". Monte Chase would be able to give you a better idea, I think. It's not a whole blade assembly, so I wouldn't expect that it's worth a whole lot.
