  • Hartzell Liberty Propeller questions....

    Howdy,

This is my first time on this forum, so let me know if I'm doin' it right.

What I have is a WW1 Hartzell walnut propeller with the old LIBERTY decal on both sides. You have a similar one on your website that measures 8' in total length, but looks exactly like mine.
    First question:
Mine measures 116" in length. I know these were designed for the Libeerty engine, but what accounts for the different lengths? Was it designed for a specific airplane?
    2nd question:
I saw a similar 110" propeller on your website that sold for 5,900 dollars.
What is the current market these days doing?

    Thanks,

    RR

The 8 foot Liberty was made for a different engine altogether, but I don't know what aircraft it was designed for. The 110" Liberty propeller was made for a Liberty engine, but also unknown is the specific aircraft.

Past sales values aren't particularly reliable right now because of a significantly depressed market for collectible props.
