  • JPW propeller

    Hi
My sister and I are trying to identify the age and details of this propeller clock. I believe my grandfather found the propeller and had the clock made. Any thoughts on value also welcome.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi
It is hard to be sure without knowing dimensions or seeing details of the hub but the short pitch, squared off tips and the fact that it comprises only two laminations suggest to me that it is an auxiliary propeller; i.e. one which worked as a “windmill” to drive part of an aircraft’s ancillary equipment, such as a generator or a pump.
I think J.P.W. refers to the manufacturer; there is an example of a J.P.W. propeller elsewhere on this site: https://woodenpropeller.com/JPW.html
