Hartzell "Integral" Hub Design Propeller - 9 1/2 feet
This large Hartzell propeller has an integrally designed hub assembly.  Length is 114 inches, pitch is 78 inches.  It appears to have an undercoat of silver paint, and is painted on top of that with a reddish brown color.  Decals are intact on both blades in excellent condition.  The scalloped metal sheathing has also been painted and appears completely original.  According to a former Vice President of Sales at Hartzell, the propeller was most likely "custom" made for Charles Kirkham, engine designer with Glenn Curtiss and racing designer in the early twenties.  It is believed to have been designed to use on a Napier Lion engine, probably in 1923.
