Ebora Propeller-c. 1913 |
EBORA PROPELLER TYPE 24 No 450 28 H.P. ANZANI Wood: Mahogany Length: 7feet, 6 inches |
Markings: |
Comments: Early British propeller made by Ebora Propeller Company, Kingston-on-Thames,
Surrey. Used on a 3 cylinder Anzani radial engine, 28 HP.
Close inspection (not visible in photograph) of the actual surface reveals evidence
of hand carving in its manufacture. Believed to be used on a Bleriot
XI monoplane. Jan Schiere, whose father manufactured Ebora propellers, has kindly sent me this photo of the Ebora factory in the process of producing propellers, probably in the early 1900's. |
